Failure On an Epic Scale
LET’S BEGIN WITH THE FAMOUS SAYING, “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”
You may possess some truly incredible talents from which the world will surely benefit. Then again, you may go many years trying to harness these tal- ents and fail spectacularly. You might consume hours of material that seeks to uplift you and give you the confidence to keep going.
This book aims to put things in perspective. Here is where we are failing would-be entrepreneurs.
Imagine a company that created a product. When this product comes off the production line, people admire it; they want it and are anxious to purchase it. But within five years, 50% of the people find themselves with a broken product. It just ceases to function. Most alarmingly, within ten years, 66% of the products no longer work.
As customers, we’d be furious at this company and wonder what was happen- ing with a machine that created such a high number of defective products.
