If you take the idea of a machine producing inferior products and examine what happens in entrepreneurship, you’ll see we have a problem.
Over 50% of new small businesses FAIL within the first five years. About 70% fail within ten years.
I don’t want to diminish the inspiration we get from hearing stories of busi- ness successes. Who knows? Maybe we’d have an 80% or 90% failure rate if we didn’t have millions of hours of podcasts, YouTube videos, and thousands of books.
But the sad truth is all these items and workshops don’t seem to dent the prob- lem. We are stuck at a 50% failure rate, which saddens me.
Most people who are in the business of supporting those who hope to enter the world of entrepreneurship are happy to sell you their recipe for success. They will bombard you with emails.
This book is here to say, “HEY! Wait a minute. Perhaps there is a better way to think about entrepreneurship and what it means to be a visionary?
It’s also here to say, “HEY! Before you make any decision about your life, KNOW YOURSELF FIRST!”

From making a colossal mistake
From losing their life savings
